Dog Days of Summer
Hot, hot, hot....
| Lots of inquiries cross our mailbox every day, but this spring we often are not sure whether the requests are real or just someone pulling our leg. When FluffyButts Rescue Resort asked about our Protect-a-Pets for an abused Maltese named Apawlo Anton OH-NO, we did some web surfing before we responded. (Apawlo is for real and has been adopted!)
However, we were less skeptical and thrilled to hook up with the Dachshund Rescue of South Florida to help out Romeo. Romeo has had a rough life and unlike most dachshunds needs a wheelchair due to a bout of Canine Distemper.

New Product Innovation: Dog Wheelchairs More Adjustable
Our cart owners give us great ideas!

We credit Bobbie Mayer at Corgiaid for pushing us to enhance our K-9 Cart dog wheelchairs once again. While our dog carts have been adjustable in height, width, and length long before our competitors, the U-bar, which leads to so much additional stability in our carts, were not originally designed to be adjusted. Well, we have fixed that

design oversight, and now K-9Cart.com carts adjust in width in both the front and rear. "Winston" pictured to the left shows that for all intensive purposes the added adjustability of the U-bar doesn't add any bulk to the cart. However, you may have noticed that competitor's carts sway back and forth a lot. In part, this is due to the lack of rigidity that the U-bar adds to our bigger carts. |

Pet Sitters for Handicapped Pets:
Who do you trust when you are on vacation?
|
As vacation time nears, it raises the question as to what to do with your handicapped pet. While in-house sitters are available in most parts of the country, we all know that caring for a handicapped pet requires special expertise. Whenever possible, most of us will take our pets along and search for pet friendly lodgings. One great website for seeking out this information is BringFido.com. Pet Airways offers planes exclusively made for your pet, but we have yet to hear about anyone using it for a pet that is paralyzed in the rear. Plus the destinations are still very limited. Some people opt for boarding their pet at their vet. Help other owners by telling what you do by posting your suggestions on our K-9 Cart Forum.
